As part of our annual social initiative in the educational sector, APM Terminals Liberia has donated school supplies to pupils within Monrovia.

A total of 500 pupils from selected schools, based on a needs assessment criteria, benefited from this donation intended to aid their learning as the academic year begins. Each pupil received a school bag containing copy books, pencils, pens, crayons, sharpener & eraser and other school materials.

This exercise follows a series of educational initiatives being implemented by the company as part of their commitment towards investing in education in Liberia.

Crucially, the initiative is to contribute to the Ministry of Education’s efforts to achieve quality early childhood education within nearby districts of the Freeport of Monrovia by providing students with basic school materials needed.

APM Terminals Liberia has over the past 2 years engaged in several community impact programs hinged on Education, Health, Community Sanitation and Community Support.

Under the education arm of its CSR activities, a flagship scholarship scheme was launched and targeted at supporting brilliant but needy students.

Over 400 students from six (6) Institutions have already benefited from this scheme with other schools gradually being enrolled on.

The company continues to invest in the education sector in Liberia and sees such investments as the key to unlocking the potential of the Liberian youth.
