Customer Advisory (Safety Restows)

Dear valued Customer,

Compliments and wishing you a productive week.

Please be informed pursuant to our last discussion with all shipping lines that in order to improve safety of operations on your good vessels the terminal will now implement billable safety restows.

We have experienced unsafe situations recently during vessel operations due to poor stowage of the vessel resulting from cargo planned for another port of call that were meant to remain on board the vessel while the Monrovia cargo was being discharged.

We will therefore ensure going forward that during the execution of stevedoring activities, the terminal may undertake the shifting of containers that remain on board when such repositioning is required to uphold safety standards, ensure adequate visibility, or prevent hazards associated with their stowage configuration. These shifts are performed strictly as operational safety measures and shall not be construed as a transfer of risk or liability from the carrier.

All such shifts will be considered billable moves, in accordance with the terminal’s applicable tariff and operational terms and conditions.

We thank you for your usual understanding and continuous collaboration to enable us to serve you better and safely.

Best regards,
The Management
