Operations Update (Blizzard Update) - 2/24

Dear Valued Customer & Stakeholder,

Following one of the most severe winter storms the PONYNJ has experienced in decades, APM Terminals Elizabeth will remain closed on Wed., 2/25. With snowfall reaching 27 inches and sustained freezing temperatures, snow clean-up efforts are ongoing around the clock across the terminal and broader port community.

At this time, conditions remain unsafe and not conducive to productive operations. Our priority is ensuring the safety of all personnel while allowing sufficient time to clear the terminal, restore access, and stabilize operations.

Please see the latest operational update below:

Vessel Operations:
Vessel operations remain suspended due to the significant accumulation of snow and current yard conditions. We will provide an update on Wed. 2/25 regarding our ability to resume operations at some point on Thu. 2/26 but this is still TBC.

Gate Operations:
In alignment with other marine terminals in the PONYNJ, the terminal will remain closed Wed. 2/25. We are actively evaluating when we can open our gate, including the potential for a weekend gate; however, reopening will only occur once it is both safe and operationally effective to do so. Any import free time will be extended as usual once terminal can safely open.

We understand the impact these disruptions have on your supply chains and appreciate your continued patience and understanding as we work through an unprecedented weather event. Additional updates will be shared as they materialize and conditions improve.

Please stay safe.
